0800 Homefix Reviews: The Score, the Widgets and the Rate Card

0800 Homefix held a Trustpilot score of 4.5 out of 5 from 1,937 reviews when checked on 19 September 2026, and on the same day displayed a Google rating of 4.4 from 77 reviews on its homepage and 4.3 on its About page, which is a good illustration of why a rating widget on a company website is weaker evidence than the platform itself.

The Trustpilot distribution was 85% at five stars, 5% at four, 1% at three, 1% at two and 8% at one. That is a solid record for a company incorporated in December 2021, and the review count is substantial for its age.

The two Google figures are the interesting part, and not for the reason a competitor would want you to think. Their homepage widget carries the line that reviews are independently verified via Google and are not edited or filtered, and we have no reason to doubt it. Widgets on different pages are usually cached at different times, which is the boring and most likely explanation for 4.4 on one page and 4.3 on another on the same day. The lesson is not about this company. It is that a rating rendered on a firm's own site is a picture of a number, sometimes a stale one, and the profile itself is the evidence. We did not fetch the underlying Google profile, so we are not quoting a Google score for them as verified.

We have not used 0800 Homefix, and none of this is our assessment of their work.

What reviewers write about, in aggregate

Reading the Trustpilot profile on 19 September 2026, the recurring positive subjects were engineers described as professional, friendly and knowledgeable, the speed of attendance and resolution, clear communication about arrival times and progress, and respectful conduct in the home. The recurring subjects among critical reviewers were disputes over pricing and unexpected charges, whether attendance charges were explained in advance, requests for itemised invoices, and the collection of payment.

These are platform-level themes on one date. No individual review is quoted, summarised or characterised here, and none of these themes is a statement about how the company conducts itself.

Reading a young company's review record

0800 Homefix Ltd is company number 13803246 at Companies House, incorporated on 15 December 2021, with a registered office in Bracknell. Nearly two thousand reviews in under four years of trading is a lot, and it tells you something on its own: a firm collecting reviews at that rate is almost certainly inviting them systematically after jobs rather than waiting for people to volunteer.

That is normal practice and not a criticism. It is worth understanding because it changes what the number means. Systematic invitation captures the quiet majority of jobs that simply went fine, which pushes an average up and is arguably the more representative picture. Unprompted reviewing captures the extremes. A 4.5 built the first way and a 4.5 built the second way are not the same 4.5, and you cannot tell which you are looking at from the headline.

What a young review record genuinely cannot give you is a long tail. A profile that has been running for a decade lets you see how a firm handled a bad year. Four years does not. Neither does ours, which is nil years and nil reviews, so that is an observation rather than a complaint.

The rate card answers more of your question than the score does

0800 Homefix publishes an unusually complete rate card, which is to their credit and makes them easy to compare. As at 19 September 2026, their published hourly rates for plumbing, drainage, electrics and roofing were £120.00 plus VAT weekdays 07:00 to 18:00, £200.00 plus VAT weekdays 18:00 to midnight, £150.00 plus VAT weekends 07:00 to 18:00, £230.00 plus VAT weekends 18:00 to midnight and £250.00 plus VAT overnight. Heating and gas matches plumbing except for the weekday evening band at £230.00 plus VAT. There is a one-hour minimum charge with half-hour increments after that, all prices subject to VAT, and they state they do not charge for parking, fuel, the congestion charge or ULEZ.

Then the figure that matters if you are here about a leak: trace and access is priced separately at £950.00 plus VAT, flagged on their own rate card as a starting price whose final cost depends on complexity. That is a different product from their labour rate, and it is the number to compare against other detection prices, not the £120.00.

Two other published terms are worth knowing before you book. Fixed price quotes require a 50% deposit before work commences, and charging runs in half-hour increments from the point of arrival, with their own page putting it as "You pay for the work, not the visit". Repair work carries a stated 12-month guarantee, with parts under manufacturer's warranty.

No find, no fee: they do not offer it

We checked their leak detection page, their trace and access page and their rate card on 19 September 2026. No no-find-no-fee guarantee appears on any of them, and investigation time is charged whatever the outcome. Their trace and access page confirms charging by time from arrival with the price agreed before starting, and no outcome condition attached.

That is a straightforward structural difference rather than a failing. Most firms in this market do the same. It is simply the thing a 4.5 star rating cannot tell you, and on a search that might take two hours or might take six, it is the term that decides your downside.

Two statements on their own site, worth reading together

Their water leak detection and repair page states "We find the leak and carry out the repair - one call, one visit, one invoice". Their trace and access page lists, among the things that product typically does not include, "The repair of the leak itself", alongside damage caused by the leak, water coming in from outside, leaks caused by poor maintenance or gradual deterioration, and access work that was not directly necessary.

Both sentences are on their own website, and we are quoting both rather than the one that suits us. The likely reading is that they are describing two things: what an engineer can do on an attendance, and what the trace and access product covers when an insurer is paying. If you are booking, that is a question to settle on the phone before anyone attends, and to get in writing. It is a good question to ask any firm, including us.

On the positive side of the same page, their published trace and access scope includes locating the source with non-invasive methods, making a controlled access opening to confirm it visually, a written report with photographs, and restoring the area disturbed during access. Reinstating what they opened is more than several larger names publish.

When 0800 Homefix is a good choice

  • You want a published rate card with every time band on it before you call. Most London firms will not give you that.
  • Your job is general plumbing, heating, drainage, electrics or roofing labour rather than a hidden leak search, where their weekday rate is competitive.
  • You need a Gas Safe registered engineer and want the registration number published before you book. Theirs is on their contact page.
  • You want detection, repair and reinstatement of the access opening published as one scope.
  • You are in London or the wider South East and want an operator covering both.

How we compare, and our own reviews

We charge £150 per hour, fixed before we attend, on a no-find-no-fee basis, and our own builders reinstate the floor, ceiling, plaster and decoration rather than only the access opening. The full comparison, including their rate card set against ours line by line, is on our 0800 Homefix alternative page, and the no-find-no-fee terms across the market are pulled apart in no find no fee compared.

We publish no rating of our own because the business is new, which is set out on our reviews page, and our numbers are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked

What is 0800 Homefix rated?

Their rate card prices trace and access separately from labour at £950.00 plus VAT, flagged as a starting price whose final cost depends on complexity, as at 19 September 2026. Both statements are on their site. Settle it on the phone before anyone attends and get the answer in writing.
Why does a company show a different Google score on two of its own pages?
Usually because rating widgets on different pages are cached or updated at different times. It is not evidence of anything untoward. It is a good reason to read the platform profile rather than a badge on a website, whoever the company is.
What is Leak Fix London rated?
We have no rating at all. The business is new, and rather than manufacture social proof we have left the reviews page empty and explained what to check on a firm without a review history instead.
