Alternatives
Honest, sourced comparisons with the large firms most Londoners call first. Every figure links to where it came from.
What these pages are
Most “alternative to X” pages are written to lose the comparison on purpose. These are not. Each one sets out what the firm actually does, what it publishes about its own pricing and scope, and where that genuinely suits a job better than we would. 6 firms are covered, and 98 separate claims are attributed to a named source.
- Every figure is attributed. A price, a rating or a policy is quoted from the company’s own site or a public listing, with the link. Nothing is written from memory.
- No invented complaints. We do not paraphrase reviews we have not read, and we do not present anecdotes as evidence.
- Where they are better, it says so. A national with a 24-hour desk and a drainage fleet beats us on a blocked sewer at two in the morning. That is in the pages.
- Our own terms are the comparison. £150 per hour, no call-out fee, No find, no fee, and reinstatement carried out in-house rather than referred on.

How to use them
Read the one matching whoever you were about to call, and take the questions from it. The useful ones are always the same: what is the rate, what happens if the leak is not found, who carries out the repair afterwards, and who puts the floor back. A firm that answers all four on the phone is usually a firm worth booking — including when that firm is not us.
If you would rather skip the comparison, our own pricing is published in full, and we explain why there are no ratings on this site yet.
