ADI Leak Detection Reviews: 4.7 on Trustpilot, and the Scope

ADI Leak Detection held a Trustpilot score of 4.7 out of 5 from 1,617 reviews when checked on 19 September 2026, which is the strongest verified rating of any leak detection specialist we looked at, and the thing a prospective customer should read next is not another review but their published scope, because they state that they do not repair roof or structural leaks and do not carry out drying or reinstatement.

The Trustpilot distribution was 89% at five stars, 3% at four, under 1% at three, 1% at two and 7% at one. Three different review counts were live at once on the day we checked, which is entirely ordinary: platform counts move daily and site copy is updated in batches. ADI handle this better than most, because their About page carries a line stating that the figures on it are correct as of September 2026 and were last updated on 4 September 2026. That is a small thing and it is the right thing. If you are quoting a rating, quote the platform's figure with the date you read it, as we have done above.

We have not used ADI. Nothing here is our review of their work, and a 4.7 from 1,617 reviews is a better public record than most firms in this trade will ever build.

What reviewers write about, in aggregate

On Trustpilot on 19 September 2026, the recurring positive subjects were engineers described as professional and knowledgeable, fast response and prompt arrival, clear explanation of the findings, and locating leaks that other contractors had missed. The recurring subjects among critical reviewers were the cost of the service and unexpected additional charges, investigations that did not locate the leak, and occasional damage during access work.

Those are platform themes read on one date, not statistics, and no individual review is reproduced or characterised here. It is worth saying that "an investigation that did not locate the leak" is a theme on every leak detection firm's reviews, including one that would exist on ours if we had any. Some leaks do not give themselves up on the first visit. What varies between firms is who carries the cost when that happens, which is a contract term rather than a quality measure.

The scope, which decides more than the score

ADI publish their scope unusually clearly, and it is the most useful thing on their site. In their own words, they identify leaks in heating pipes, water mains, drainage and waste systems, swimming pools, roofs and building structures, and they repair leaks on plumbing pipes, central heating systems and swimming pools. They also state explicitly that they do not repair roof or structural leaks, locating and reporting on those instead, and that they do not provide general plumbing or heating installation work.

On reinstatement their FAQ is equally direct: drying and reinstatement are separate work, and they can recommend a national company for it.

That is the decision most people are actually making and no star rating expresses it. If your leak is a pinhole on a heating circuit under a screed floor, ADI locate it, repair it and hand you a floor with a hole in it. The drying, the screed, the tiling and the decoration are a separate procurement with a separate contractor. For some jobs that is fine. For a kitchen floor in a London flat with a downstairs neighbour involved, it is the larger half of the work.

Price, and what a fixed day rate buys

ADI publish fixed prices rather than an hourly rate, which is rare and genuinely useful. As at 19 September 2026 their published figures were, all plus VAT: central heating, mains water, underfloor heating, bathroom, drainage, ceiling and irrigation investigations at £595 for a full day; roof and structural at £495 for a half day; swimming pool at £1,190 for a full day with two PADI divers. Their pricing page gives an overall range of £595 to £1,500 and above, their London page says detection there starts from £495 plus VAT, and their FAQ states that a full day is allocated to every pipework leak detection investigation.

A fixed day rate is not automatically better or worse than an hourly one. It is a transfer of risk. On a hard leak in a period property with no record of the pipe run, a day is a realistic estimate and the price risk sits with them, which is worth paying for. On a leak that a pressure test settles in forty minutes, you have bought a day.

Their no find no fee, reproduced in full

ADI do offer a no-find-no-fee guarantee, and anyone comparing it with another firm's has to reproduce its conditions rather than the phrase. As published on their FAQ and homepage, it applies to water mains and internal mains-fed water supply pipes, and:

  • applies to investigations for a single leak at an individual property;
  • requires the leak to be losing at least half a litre of water per minute;
  • applies to hot and cold feed plumbing leaks;
  • applies to water mains up to 30 metres long;
  • is not applicable to central heating, structural or swimming pool leaks.

Read that against your own problem before you treat it as cover. A heating circuit losing pressure slowly is the single most common hidden leak we are called to, and on the published terms it sits outside that guarantee. Our own no-find-no-fee has no minimum flow rate and no exclusion for heating circuits: if we do not find the leak, you do not pay for the time we spent looking. The market-wide comparison is in no find no fee compared.

The rest of what they publish

ADI state that they run 25 leak investigation engineers who join from a plumbing or heating background with a minimum of three years on the tools and complete in-house training, that around 5,000 jobs a year are completed, that they hold £5 million of public liability cover, and that every investigation ends with a written report by the attending engineer supported by photographs and video, formatted for trace and access and escape of water insurance claims. Their published detection methods are tracer gas, acoustic listening, leak correlation, thermal imaging, borescope cameras, moisture meters, CCTV drain survey and drone inspection. Their published accreditations and memberships are CIPHE, WIAPS, WaterSafe and SPATA, with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Safecontractor listed as in development.

When ADI is the right call

  • You want a fixed price before anyone attends and you are prepared to pay for a full day to get it.
  • Your leak is on a water main or mains-fed supply pipe, losing more than half a litre a minute, where their guarantee actually applies.
  • It is a swimming pool leak. Very few firms will put two diver-qualified engineers on it at a published price.
  • You are outside London. They publish coverage across England, Scotland and Wales, and we do not.
  • You need detection and a report only, because another contractor is already lined up for the repair and the making good.

When to call us instead, and our own reviews

When the floor, ceiling or wall has to come up and you want one firm to open it, repair the pipe and put it back, including screed, plaster, tiling and decoration. That is what leak damage repair and reinstatement is, and it is the half of the job ADI publish that they hand to someone else. The full comparison is on our ADI Leak Detection alternative page.

We have no rating of our own. The business is new and our reviews page says so rather than filling the gap with invented testimonials.

Frequently asked

What is ADI Leak Detection rated on Trustpilot?
Their Trustpilot profile showed 4.7 out of 5 from 1,617 reviews when checked on 19 September 2026, with 89% at five stars and 7% at one star. Their own site displayed slightly different review counts on the same day, which is normal: use the platform figure with the date it was read.
How much does ADI Leak Detection charge?
They publish fixed prices rather than an hourly rate. As at 19 September 2026 those were, plus VAT, £595 for a full-day investigation on central heating, mains water, underfloor heating, bathroom, drainage, ceiling or irrigation, £495 for a half-day roof or structural investigation, and £1,190 for a swimming pool investigation with two PADI divers. Their pricing page gives an overall range of £595 to £1,500 and above.
Does ADI offer no find no fee?
Yes, on water mains and internal mains-fed water supply pipes, with published conditions: it applies to a single leak at an individual property, the leak must be losing at least half a litre per minute, it applies to hot and cold feed plumbing leaks and to mains up to 30 metres, and it does not apply to central heating, structural or swimming pool leaks.
Does ADI Leak Detection repair the leak and make good the damage?
They publish that they repair leaks on plumbing, central heating, water mains and swimming pools, that they do not repair roof or structural leaks, and that drying and reinstatement are separate work for which they can recommend another company. If your floor or ceiling has to be opened, plan for who is putting it back.
Is a fixed day rate better than an hourly rate for leak detection?
It depends on how hard the leak turns out to be, which nobody knows when you book. A fixed day rate moves the risk of a long search onto the firm and is the cheaper outcome on a difficult leak. An hourly rate is cheaper when a pressure test settles it in under an hour. Neither structure is dishonest; they fail in opposite directions.
What do you rate?
Nothing. Leak Fix London is new, publishes no reviews, ratings or testimonials, and will link customers to the platform they review on when there are any, rather than retyping the flattering ones onto our own page.
